Safeguarding Information

SAFEGUARDING

Safeguarding is about protecting children, young people and adults at risk from emotional, physical and sexual abuse or neglect. It also means helping children to grow up into confident, happy and healthy adults.

Most children enjoy generally happy childhood experiences within their own family. Unfortunately for some, this is not the case. During difficult family times, everyone who knows the child must do their best the can to protect them from future harm.

You could be a neighbour, friend, relative, child minder, teacher or doctor, or working for any organisation which has contact with children and young people. Protecting children is everyone's responsibility.

If you should need help as a parent you should talk to a teacher, health visitor or doctor to find out what's available. They will be able to put you in touch with someone who can help.

If you are concerned about a child or young person, do not ignore these concerns, please call the telephone numbers below:

Adults 01572 758341
