"My name is Ceri, I have been working as a Targeted Intervention Practitioner in Rutland for 5 years, it is a brilliant job because I get to meet so many children and families.

I work at Visions full time so that means you may see me at the Centre, in the community or out at a home visit.


As a Targeted Intervention Practitioner I:

Home visit parents and families to offer a range of support, I also signpost parents to other avenues of help which may be more appropriate.

Complete CAF assessments and attend meetings, often acting as Lead Professional.

Attend CIN, CP and core groups in relation to vulnerable children and families.

Work with Young Parents – sessions, group work and 1-1 support.

Parenting courses – Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities and Fun and Families.

I will be looking after St George’s Barracks in the future and plan on being a visible point of contact in partnership with Army Welfare Services.

"I'm Amy, a Targeted Intervention Practitioner at Visions Children's Centre. I have been working with families for over ten years now and really enjoy supporting them to reach their potential. My role here involves supporting families in a variety of ways, often including home-visiting and supporting people to attend our sessions. I also look after the Children's Centre Volunteers and provide a family support service at St George's Barracks one day a week."

"My name is Rachael and I am a Targeted Intervention Practitioner working part time within Visions Children's Centre.
I have recently moved to Rutland and am enjoying being part of this friendly and welcoming team.

My role and responsibilities are:

  • To support children and families within the children centre and in the community.
  • Work with professionals from a variety of services providing advice and support to Families in Rutland.
  • I contribute in delivering the Ante Natal programme."

"My name is Sophie, my role in the Visions Children's Centre is an Early Years Practitioner.

As an Early Years Practitioner:

  • I can offer advice and practical ways on how to implement the Early Years Foundation Stage in the Home Environment.
  • I help to run the Early Years Practitioner Project around Rutland in Kendrew Barracks, Uppingham Scout Hut, St Georges Barracks and the Visions Children's Centre.
  • I help to provide new initiatives and projects to get families involved in their children's learning."
